01 - the subject of the international competition is:
A LIFE with Future Computing

with the spread of ICT, the ability for people to make diverse connections via networks with
other people in all daily life situations have increased, through a variety of devices such as PCs
and smart phones. as a provider of ICT products and services, Fujitsu strives to create a
new society that contributes to people’s everyday lives. our aim is to make computing
technology a familiar part of people’s life so that it may be used conveniently
by as many people as possible. this competition is held to make the future lifestyle of people
richer and even more fun, and to give a concrete shape to the future as Fujitsu sees it by

the award is composed of two categories:
- the LIFEBOOK category which studies what PCs will be like in 2013, the near future,
and

Sponsored by Autodesk^®, CGarchitect, and NVIDIA, the Rendering Revolution contest is a global still image architectural visualization competition in celebration of the Autodesk^® 3ds Max^® 20^th Anniversary and advancements in GPU-accelerated rendering solutions. To participate, you must:

Create an architectural scene that incorporates the 3ds Max 20^th anniversary logo. The logo must be in a recognizable form, but you do get points for creativity.
Produce a still image of that scene. The scene can be designed with any application, but final frame rendering must be done in 3ds Max 2011 or 3ds Max Design 2011 software using its native GPU rendering solutions – Quicksilver or iray^® – or any GPU-accelerated third-party rendering solution.

Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Competition 2010

What do you get when you combine forward-thinking designers & architects with the leading manufacturers of tile? Why don’t you show us? The Italian Trade Commission and Confindustria Ceramica, the Association of Italian Ceramics, are proud to announce the 2010 Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Competition Call for Entries. The competition, now in its 17th year, recognizes the exceptional work of North American architects and designers who feature Italian ceramic tiles in their institutional, residential or commercial/hospitality spaces.

Prizes-
Winners in each category will receive a cash prize of $5,000 and a five-day trip to Bologna, Italy to attend CERSAIE 2010 – the world’s largest exhibition for ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings – joining a delegation of top consumer and design journalists. Ceramic Tiles of Italy will award an additional $1,000 to be shared by the winning contractor/distributor team.

Deadline-

Submissions must be completed no later than February 19, 2010.
Winners will be announced at the Ceramic Tiles of Italy Press Conference during Coverings, which will be held in Orlando, FL from April 27-30, 2010. In addition, an exhibit of the winning projects will be on display in the Italian pavilion during this internationally acclaimed tile and stone trade show.

Designing the Garage of the Future

Enter Dwell's Parkitecture Design Competition!

What will the garage of the future look like? Dwell's newest contest challenges you to incorporate forward-thinking technology into a freestanding building that can hold no more than three vehicles. Using Google SketchUp, entrants are invited to submit at least two renderings — one interior and one exterior — that illustrate the technological possibilities and sustainable potential of the garage of the future. The High Bridge International Ideas Competition

This competition is open to all emerging professionals, including, but not limited to, architects, artists, engineers, landscape architects, urban designers, and planners who have completed their education at the undergraduate or graduate level within 10 years of the competition announcement (September 10, 2009). The registration deadline is November 18, 2009, and the submission deadline is January 18, 2010. An online gallery will feature all submitted design entries. A Box of Dreams- Competition

The third edition of the international competition dedicated to young people offers the chance to deal with the theme of creativity in various areas of art, fashion and design. The competition has a more idealistic aim of encouraging participants to present innovative ideas and projects, irrespective of their direct application. It is a true dream factory, where young people are encouraged to 'dare', by placing more emphasis on the idea and visionary ability than their technical level. Michael Jackson lived one of the most extravagant, magnificent, and crafted lives in centuries. What act of design could possibly outshine the combined effect of the star’s own intricate life? While the music and images Michael left us will seal his cultural immortality, we are still obliged to commemorate him. What is the nature of a monument to Michael Jackson? What single place do we choose to remember a person who touched the globe and had aspirations for the moon? What is the appropriate scale to remember a man who operated on everything possible - from the studied renovation of his own human form to the creation of an architectural-scale wunderkamer at Neverland Ranch? What design proposal can top his own unrealized plans to construct a 50-foot robotic replica of himself that roams the Las Vegas dessert shooting laser beams out of its eyes? Live Forever challenges you to design a monument to the epic that was Michael Jackson. There are no limits to this open competition. Your monument may be located anywhere you choose and be any scale that you deem appropriate.

Entries must be submitted as a single 72 DPI image in PNG format sized exactly 3000 pixels by 2000 pixels.

Entries must be uploaded via the online form on the competition website. Each entry may include one image and a text description not exceeding 500 characters.

International Competition for Architects “UPTO35 “

OLIAROS, a young property development company, is calling architects up to 35 years old to submit proposals for the construction of an affordable student housing complex in Kerameikos and Metaxourgeio (KM), an area in the historic centre of Athens, Greece. The aim of the competition is to encourage creativity among the next generation of designers while supporting architectural research and the implementation of contemporary architecture projects in Greece. The competition seeks to elicit designs which explore new ideas on urbanism and rethink existing housing models for communities. Corrugated Board Chair Design -Competition

The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) and the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation (ICPF) are pleased to announce a student competition for the Spring 2009 academic semester.
