Invitation to Architects for Peace information session and workshop - Strategic Plan next steps 2017

Architects for Peace is holding an information session and workshop to discuss current project activity and, to seek out further projects that will continue to build on the vision, mission and values of the organization and it's Strategic Plan (Spring 2014 to Spring 2018). This public session presents opportunities to learn about the organization's history and current values, invites multi-disciplinary discussion about projects that aim to address spatial and social justice issues in our urban and natural environments, and, will explore what inspires us - as built environment professionals - to 'make change' while we are identifying with a number of social injustices, conflicts and barriers that limit access to freedom of speech.

Following an activity filled year in 2016, Architects for Peace has reached a milestone point in it's strategic development and wishes to involve past, present and new members in a review and ideation process. All Melbourne-based steering committee members and active volunteers will be available on the day to chat about the workings of the organization. As pre-workshop preparation, participants are kindly asked to bring a notepad, pen and a short reflective piece of writing that addresses a part of the Strategic Plan and how this may challenge or support their values about the built environment.

Aspects of the workshop will focus on how the organisation develops activities based on research projects, partnerships, educational initiatives and campaigning activity.
